Let us introduce you to this year’s charity partner for Furvaria 2026!
The Tierschutzverein Donauwörth u.U. e.V. mit Tierheim Hamlar (Donauwörth and Surrounding Areas Animal Welfare Association with the Hamlar Animal Shelter) provides care not only for dogs, cats, rabbits, and guinea pigs, but also for goats, chickens, pigeons, cockatoos, and budgerigars.
They also assist wild animals in distress, such as hedgehogs, squirrels, hares, martens, birds of prey, waterfowl, and many others.
On average, their shelter is home to approximately 100 cats, 40 dogs, and 50 small animals.
They are funded primarily through donations, animal adoptions, boarding services, flea markets, and smaller events. Founded on September 19, 1977, the organization will celebrate its 50th anniversary next year.
Currently, they are responsible for stray and found animals across more than 40 municipalities, including the Donau-Ries district (formerly the Donauwörth district) where FURVARIA takes place, a large portion of the Dillingen district, and many others.

Tombola (“Raffle”)
For a monetary donation, attendees get a raffle ticket associated with a prize: While FURVARIA donates merch and some other prizes for the raffle, we need your help and donations to increase the pool of interesting items, objects, services like commissions etc.
Charity Auction
You think your item may attract more interest at an auction? We host a little main stage show where we auction off different things of interest to the crowd. So if you want to see people bid and fight for a paperclip with googly eyes or a hand drawn sketch on a napkin, the charity auction is the place to be for surprises!
